Journey to Jershon is also available here:
My wife, Christine, and I have 4 kids: Elizabeth, 10; Joshua, 8; Spencer, 7; and Lucas, 5.
I love to write, I love to create and travel to my worlds and get to know the people and the culture, but I do have several hurdles in the form of autism, bipolar, and learning disabilities. Not that it should excuse anything. As I was taught: “do the best you know how, when you know better, do better.” And that is what I strive for every day. To improve and be better than I was yesterday. So that's what I do in the hopes that I can meet all the needs of my kids so that I can look myself in the mirror. |
Or keep reading, and get to know me a little.
Hi, my name is Joel Heath. I'm a man of few words. Fortunately that irony is not lost on me. My biggest flaws are my learning disability, and my inability to get the help I need, especially when I pay for the help I need.
I discovered writing at the age of seven. I had written a short story about the end of the world, a little dark for a six year old, but I had a creative itch that had to be scratched. I quickly moved on to longer, more detailed stories finally publishing my first work 10 years ago. Since then I have published three additional novels in increasing quality. It has been a tremendous outlet to allow me to attempt to express myself in ways I could not otherwise. It also allows me to feel a sense of control after decades of having that feeling denied to me. Another outlet that helps is charity, I am an avid supporter of charities like the Make-a-wish foundation, the Wounded Warrior Project, Next for Autism, among others. |
